Appearing on CBS, Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway described concern about Russian interference with the U.S. election as lacking evidence and claimed that President Obamas vow to retaliate against Russia is political.
Trump himself has publicly and repeatedly cast doubt on the intelligence communitys conclusions that Russia initiated hacks designed to damage Hillary Clinton.
Earlier this week, I met separately with FBI [Director] James Comey and DNI [Director] Jim Clapper, and there is strong consensus among us on the scope, nature, and intent of Russian interference in our presidential election, CIA Director John Brennan wrote to agency employees.

Appearing directly after Conway, Washington Post reporter David Ignatius expressed alarm that Trumps disinterest in Russian interference posed a grave danger to U.S. interests. Specifically, the country will not be able to determine whether there is any kind of leverage the Russian government has over Donald Trump.
Ignatius said it is crucial that information be collected before Trump takes office, not to attack him but to liberate him.
Ignatius noted that Trumps refusal the release his tax returns, as every other modern Presidential nominee has done, further complicated the process of determining possible Russian influence over Trump.

(6,974 posts)In terms of transparency, I seriously feel that putin and the oligarchs will KNOW more about our day to day business than WE the American people will.
Unfortunately, he won't hold many pressers if ANY, and the so-called liberal media that does not exist WON'T hold his feet to the fire, hell most won't hold him accountable for much. A majority of the press will continue to kiss his ring and kiss his big, fat, ugly butt and laugh at his many, many foibles--hoping that he KEEPS their ratings sky-high.
It's going to be a hideous 4 years because we won't know what in HELL tRumputin's doing from one minute to the next, unless that slut puts it out there on his twitter

Thanks for posting this extremely important video.

(7,800 posts)He sold his soul to get elected and the Russian announcement a few days after the election that they were in communication with the Trump campaign throughout - was Putin's was of reminding Drumpf who his master is - and that this is one partner he dare not double-cross - for Putin is armed with evidence that could get Drumpf hung for Treason. Certain he is stuck with Bannon and Flynn, as well, who know too much (Rudy G. probably does, too - but I think he's been tipped by his intelligence connections that someone is on to them, and he might want to back away). He didn't seem that despondent to me to be passed over for Sec. of State.
