4. My brother used to live there and he hated it. Then he moved to...

... Colorado Springs (for a different engineering job) and assumed it would be better. To his surprise, it was even more insanely conservative!

He said there were quite a few cross-dressers in Roanoke, which also surprised him given the overall conservative attitude that he observed when he was there (years ago).

Roanoke County and the rest of this corner of the state, definitely not.

I always think my little blue dot is combined with the rest of the blue in Virginia to at least elect the president and governor.

My DW had brain surgery at Duke a few weeks ago we've been home locked ever since.
