"You are commanded to execute this warrant on or before 11/13."
So not only was there no probable cause, as has been discussed in other threads, but there was no need to break with the tradition of not taking public steps in politically sensitive cases less than sixty days before an election.
And then, as this DailyKos diary points out, Comey's letter to Congress--you know, the one in which he wrote, "The FBI has learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation,--was written on October 28. The warrant was filed two days later, on October 30.
Comey is a disgrace.

(22,669 posts)One that historians, if there will be any left in a few years to tell, will be able to point to October 28th, 2016 and say, that was the beginning of the end. When just enough undecided voters flipped their votes based on no new information and a dead case. And in so doing, tipped the election for the pro-Russian candidate.
Billions of lives were soon lost and the history of the human race ended as we know it.

(51,550 posts)He had not even seen the emails yet. The subpoena was not issued until 2 days after the letter. He had no idea what the emails looked like or "appeared to be." All he knew were that the emails were between Hillary and her long time aide Huma Abedin. That is not the appearance of any crime, that is certainly not evidence of any crime.
The only "apparent" crime here is Comey's violation of the Hatch Act.
