GOP Rep Says We Should've 'Kicked the Russian Ambassador Out of the United States' Over Hacking

While appearing on CNN’s New Day this morning, Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX) stated that he was fine with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s position that there doesn’t need to be a select committee to investigate Russian hacking of the election.

However, he also highlighted that he would have liked to see a stronger response to Russia and Vladimir Putin than President Obama’s “cut it out.” Speaking to host Chris Cuomo, the former CIA officer explained how the United States should have reacted to Russia.

“Knowing the tactics they use to gather information is also important in trying to prevent certain outcomes from happening is important as well,” he noted. “And this is something that there has to be a clear response to this behavior so it doesn’t happen in the future.”

if Democrats are serious about addressing this, we need task forces of volunteers in every state devoted exclusively to helping voters get the necessary IDs
