What is Trump going to do in our battle with Isis that is not being done?

Here is a snippet from an address to the nation that George W Bush made in the immediate aftermath of the 9-11 attack. He correctly points out terrorists aren't conventional enemies. This isn't George Patton going up against Erwin Rommel in North Africa:

It is not as if they have a capital or a nation where we can as Trump says "bomb the shit of them." There are no nations to liberate, no land to occupy, no organized power that can surrender.
