Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI predict that a weekly show by Alec Baldwin on Trump will be the most-watched show on television!
I think a weekly television show with Alec Baldwin as Trump is likely to be the most watched show on television.
Among other things, the show can reveal the real world of Trump to this country which the mainstream media is not likely to otherwise reveal. In addition, politicians, newsmakers, etc., would be a welcome addition to the show, as also would be the numbers of world-class entertainers who have refused to perform at the Trump Inauguration. Charles blow from the New York Times, Paul Krugman, and others, would be welcome guests I think.
Such a show would have a pretty much automatic built in viewership, with more than half the voters in the country voting for Sen. Clinton.
Such a show to could point out easily, regularly, very impactfully the many outrageous lies told by Trump and his supporters. Whoever plays Kelliann Conway would have a wonderful role!
I don't know who else is likely to tell the American people about what ending Social Security, Medicare, public schooling, etc., is likely to mean for them, their families, and for our country. But a sneering and befuddled Alec Baldwin could reveal how naked and bereft of ideas and concern are president and his supporters are.
If there was a way to invest money in this show, I would do it in a in a heartbeat!
Any thoughts on this?
The first 5 minutes of snl is fine with me.

(1,779 posts)Such a show might even educate Trump about the implications of many of his actions. Unless the show is about him, he is not likely to pay it any attention at all.
But in such a show, one could point out the very many families would be even more destitute without our social safety net.
The show might even from time to time congratulate him on actually doing something worthwhile.
Such a show clearly would be a very energizing development for progressives throughout the United States.

(21,127 posts)The only way I can tolerate seeing him is Alex Baldwins impersonation. Great idea. Way to outrage his followers and have Alex read his real tweets and give the real news what his administration is doing. That they would otherwise not hear. At the end give a link where people can see for themselves what is really going on.
But I would fear some harm would come to Alex from one of orange hitlers deranged cultish supporters.

(1,779 posts)And I certainly agree with you about his reading Trump's tweets. Those would be endlessly interesting and possibly terrifying.
If this show is to politically radioactive to be filled in this country, then I certainly would be willing to watch a show that is filmed elsewhere. But the idea that in the United States we cannot view a comedy of this sort is appalling!
This country was not created by acquiescent sheep and the only way to win back our future is to speak truth to power loudly and unceasingly.

(7,527 posts)I hope Baldwin remains booked to play Trump, and Kate McKinnon is brilliant as KellyAnne and HRC.
I think they managed to foretell the future that KC would be Trumps personal adviser.
