(115,686 posts)Nixon didn't really break bad until he became President. Pence obviously has a lot of potential but you have to be weapons-grade evil to beat Cheney. We'll have to wait and see.

(985 posts)Andrew Johnson was probably the worst VP to become President, but it wasn't until after he became President that he held back Reconstruction. Cheney was the most active VP ever, and none of it was good.

(21,786 posts)he was corrupt and so crooked he had to screw his trousers on in the morning. Cheney's whole "power behind the throne" thing was...something, but I don't know that it's necessarily in the category of "worst"--it does stand out among Vice Presidents whose job is basically to be on hand in case the President dies, or is impeached, or resigns, and otherwise to preside over the Senate and only vote in the case of a tie; as John Nance Garner famously said, "the job isn't worth a pitcher of warm piss".

(38,311 posts)I think there's some nasty shit in his closet.
That's probably how he got the job. The Powers That Be can pull the plug on him at any time and replace him with another knob.
