Seriously, FOUR YEARS of THIS sh*t? "Man booted off Jet Blue flight for allegedly accosting Ivanka"

A passenger on a JetBlue flight was booted off the plane after he allegedly confronted Ivanka Trump and told her that her father was “ruining the country.”

TMZ is reporting that the passenger saw Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, and started railing against the president-elect.

“Why is she on our flight,” the man allegedly said. “She should be flying private.”

TMZ also notes that the spouse of the passenger “tweeted an hour before the plane took off, ‘Ivanka and Jared at JFK T5, flying commercial. My husband chasing them down to harass them.'”

Your post is about a man "allegedly" harassing people (jerks in my opinion, but still, people entitled to peace).

Your link is to a story about Leslie Van Houten being denied parole.

To answer your post, if the story is accurate, then the man behaved like a jerk, disrupted the flight, and deserved to be kicked off the plane. Everyone is angry. Ivanka and her husband are probably not good people and her dad is most likely going to cause damage as President. That does not give anyone the right to harass them on a flight. They have as much right as anyone else to fly commercial without being accosted.

if you were flying on a plane with the immediate family of the president-elect or the president? Wouldn't the immediate family be a target for terrorists?

With the money that the Trump family has - don't you think that they should be flying private versus putting common folk at risk by flying commercial?

Just asking?

Note that I'm not condoning the actions of this guy harassing Ivanka and her husband.

It's very irresponsible for these Trump-shits to go where ever they want and drag their little kid around with them without some security like Blackwater or something. How can you be thrown off a flight for having a nonthreatening conversation with a fellow passenger? If Elizabeth Warren or Barney Frank were getting on a JetBlue flight in Oklahoma City, isn't it likely that a redneck might say something that wasn't praise to them? Would they be thrown off the plane?

Passenger Removed From JetBlue Flight After Ivanka Trump Tirade
One witness said the passenger was “clearly agitated” but did not “scream or yell.”
12/23/2016 01:35 am ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A JetBlue airline passenger, who media outlets and a witness described as making angry remarks at the sight of Ivanka Trump on his flight, was removed from the plane on Thursday by the airline.

JetBlue Airways Corp confirmed in a statement that a passenger had been removed from a flight set to depart from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, bound for San Francisco, but provided no other information about the incident.

Another passenger on the flight, Marc Scheff, said that, when the man saw U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka, he “did a double take and said ‘Oh my God. This is a nightmare!’”

JetBlue said in a statement: “The decision to remove a customer from a flight is not taken lightly. In this instance, our team worked to re-accommodate the party on the next available flight.”

You do not have free speech on an airplane and harassing people even in a normal tone of voice will get you kicked off the plane. Besides, it is rude.

The daughter of an allege billionaire is flying on a discount airline. Interesting. You'd think they're deliberately trying to stir up this kind of shit.

That being said, people should be able to fly without being harassed like that, even those who are related to one of the biggest assholes on the planet. Jet Blue was right to kick this guy off the flight.

I actually would do the same to her. She wants an office in the West Wing. She enables his evil plans. I would feel badly if this happened to Melania, maybe. But Ivanka is now a public figure and has no right to a criticism free zone anywhere in the world.

And you think that kind of behavior is going to bring people to the cause? Win seats in the midterms? Is that how we show people we're the more mature, capable party? By shrieking at people on airplanes?

We are as always, our own worst enemy.

agree with the guy on Trump, he was in the wrong for this. He harassed another passenger (with her children present) and deserved to be kicked off the flight. There is a time and place for everything, and this wasn't it. This would be like if some RWer approached Chelsea, Sasha, or Malia on a flight.

If this had happened to one of Obama's daughters from some yokel from the Midwest in 2008, we'd have lost our collective minds.

I'm all for healthy protest, healthy discussion, and when appropriate escalating all the above to MUCH higher levels. But not this. Sorry. In many cases, things like this end up having the reverse effect. And it becomes even more difficult to draw attention to real issues, real evidence, real proof.

Maddow made a difference tonight. It has to be that way every single day moving forward. Losing our minds and acting like the things they are calling us will not win the day. Keeping our heads, regrouping, and continuing to counter fiction with fact and hate with love WILL win the day.

Don't get sucked down that rabbit hole. it's what they want.

Sasha and Malia were not members of Team Obama.

Ivanka absolutely is an active member of the 4th Reich.

If this man was pressing the issue and making a scene, he deserved to be kicked him out. But let's not turn act like these demon spawns are innocent little lambs either. I'd leave Tiffany alone. The rest can kiss my ass.

is advising her father, sitting in on policy and diplomatic meetings, and who is going to have office space in the White House. She's not the "president's kid"; she's an advisor and an active player on her father's team. She's expected to play a role in advising him on climate change issues -- and who knows what else.

Is this particular incident constructive? Maybe not. But people who are afraid for their lives, their futures, and those of their loved ones, are not always completely rational.

BTW, here's a first-hand account from someone who was sitting right in front of her on the plane (which contradicts TMZ's sensationalistic story):

I'm less concerned about verbal attacks on Ivanka Trump than I am about the attacks on our civil liberties and institutions by the incoming administration. Who in their right mind tweets about expanding our nuclear arsenal? The same man who brags about sexually assaulting women. Let's stay focused people.

Below is what I saw first hand.

That's us in the photo you see on the internet. I am sitting in the next row up from Ivanka and surrounded by her family. The whole incident happened literally 15 inches from me. The article is sensationalizing this a little. Here is what happened.

A man got on and got upset about her and her family. He didn't accost her directly.

When he got on and saw her, sitting behind me, he said "oh my god. This is a nightmare" and was visibly shaking. He said "they ruin the country now they ruin our flight!" (Context: Boarding and therefore the flight was delayed because they needed to get on first through some other way)

He did not yell. He was also not what I would describe as calm. Agitated for sure. His husband behind him was very calm. His son is adorable and sharply dressed.

I once saw a woman kicked off the plan because she told the flight attendant that she couldn't sit in the window seat, that she needed an Isle seat because she get's claustrophobic.

10 minutes later, there are two officials standing at her isle (in front of me) escorting her off.

That was Delta too btw. Anything that makes the pilot nervous about a passenger is likely to get you the boot while you are still at the gate.

meetings with foreign leaders. Boo-hoo. She is just as much a part of enacting Trump's agenda as Steve Bannon or anyone else on his team is. If she and her father are allowed to attack millions of Americans with vile, hateful rhetoric, then those Americans have every right to respond. If she doesn't want to be exposed to that, she shouldn't fly on commercial airlines with the public.

And TMZ? Really? Harvey Levin just wants to keep his 'exclusive access.'
