Yesterday, I listened and watched a discussion from the Ploughshare Foundation talking about the fact that the nuclear weapons can be launched in under 4 mins and that there is no real chain of command that the President has to follow and that this "Finger trigger" protocol needs to be changed by President Obama immediately, that he can't wait and hand that power over to Trump. Then I watched Japan's Prime Minister Abe on TV next to Obama at Pearl Harbor giving condolences and promising to never wage war again. The only time in our world history that nuclear bombs have been used by US on Japan in WWII. Soon after that, the Twit tweets a response to this meeting with Abe and Obama at Pearl Harbor taking swipes at him and his statements (not to mention his mocking of the United Nations as nothing more than a "social club".

Last night I went to see Rogue One in IMAX 3D with my family. The last scene, with the death star being used and the mushroom cloud and people embracing as they die - and then in a follow up scene with Princess Leia saying "It's Hope".... I started having tears streaming down my cheeks. Because at that moment, realizing all the symbolism and even Carrie Fisher had died... and that the reality of what is happening - was all too real...
