You know....POTUS is kinda one of those "elitist" terms.....

Much in the vein of "'Murica" I suggest that after Jan 20 we start using "President of 'States" or POS.

Saw it in another thread, just realized how appropriate it is. We are certainly not United, nor will the orange one unite us.

given it was coined to replace "intellectual" because

1) it has a more negative connotation
2) it is easier for low vocabulary types to learn

That's why I used it in quotes of course.

those who use the term are being dismissive and disrespectful of people they disagree with.

these are the people who say they're the "real america", implying that those of us on the coasts are somehow less.

if it were a legitimate critique, they'd be arguing for *equal* status with ivory tower types, etc. but they're not, they're *completely* dismissive of ivory tower types and use the "elitist" claim to argue that only *their* opinion matters.

that's is, itself, the real elitism.
