Kennedy Center Honors: Will honorees next year refuse to sit in presidential box with Trump?

The Kennedy Center Honors, which include a White House reception and performances at the Kennedy Center viewed by honorees sitting with the President, have been around since 1978. While there have been a few cancellations/refusals to attend, to the best of my knowledge, no honoree has ever refused to attend because they didn't want to attend a White House reception or sit with the current president, even when it's probably been the case that the honoree was not a fan of the president in office at that time.

But Trump is a horse('s ass) of a different color. Given the refusal of so many talents to participate in his inauguration, what will happen next year when the honorees are selected. Will the committee that selects honorees try to pick folks they think would appear with Trump? Will there be refusals to accept the award or acceptances followed by refusals to attend the reception?

Pervert-elect doesn't stand by tradition so this should be no issue to him at all.

Who Picks the Kennedy Center Honorees? Here's a Step-by-Step Guide to Making the Cut

Nominations for Kennedy Center Honors can only come from past winners and the board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and I'm still waiting to hear back about my application

Once the nods are in, seven members of the Center's executive committee pick their five to seven winners, according to the New York Times. There's no voting, no formal bylaws, and there aren't even any official criteria for choosing who wins.

But I would guess, trump will never darken the steps of theater.

I watch them from time to time, and especially enjoy when the Prez is obviously having a good time (it was really fun to watch Bill Clinton, and Obama was a very close second). It was a bit embarrassing to see Shrub there, as he looked so clearly bored. Be that as it may, I'm glad for the information!
