Bernie Sanders mural in Philly could be demolished unless...
Julie Shaw
The Philadelphia Inquirer

Max Glass, majority owner of the building on the southeast corner of 22nd and Catharine Streets, was part of a pro-Sanders group that created the mural to show public support for the Vermont senator ahead of the Democratic presidential nomination.

"I care about the mural image," he said Friday. "The mural is very special. It’s beautiful and meaningful. And it still remains relevant because Bernie is still out there as a voice for progressives, still has a huge amount of grassroots support."

Glass, who is a developer, has plans to transform the property at 2146 Catharine St. into a mixed-use space with a restaurant and residential units. He currently uses the building for storage.

"I want to keep that mural alive even if the building is demolished," Glass said. He welcomes readers' ideas. If you have an interest in preserving the mural in some way, contact Glass at max@glassproperties.com.

Just say that the photographer intentionally composed the photograph that way and it's iron-clad proof that he's really a crypto-fascist Trumpist out to undermine and defame an outstanding citizen for clear political motives, which could only mean he's the agent of a foreign power.

When challenged, say there are at least 10 thousand other safe vantage points, and so the odds that the photographer just happened to take that picture are 1 in 10 thousand. That's surely no coincidence; if not a coincidence, then it's planned; if planned, it's intentional; since good Americans must support progressive politics, it means he was subverted, corrupted; if subverted, it was by an enemy, and he was a weak tool of a foreign power.

(Hey, if that were Lenin and it were 1938 and in Tula, the photographer would already be scheduled for execution, his confession printed in the local edition of Labor or Red Star or whatever, and his wife unemployed, evicted, possibly also arrested, and his kids left to fend for themselves because they'd be politically toxic and to support them would be to support the children of an enemy of the people.)

and donate the proceeds to progressive candidates/causes.

Each brick would come with a print or picture of the mural. Bricks for Bernie!

(Probably too time consuming and complicated, but it is just an idea).

I hate to see street art demolished.
