Perhaps the saddest and most intriguing thing about these elections...

Are that when push comes to shove a large portion of the American population aren't really that upset with losing large aspects of their democracy. The nation that was founded on the brightest and most promising principals of democracy, the great democratic experiment now is faltering and a very large portion of the American population's response is a rather apathetic, Meh.

that many Americans are so upset having had a black president and the prospect of having a strong willed woman next that they have signed on to worshiping a murderous dictator, Putin, and a would be dictator, Trump.

Or they can't stop fucking texting to care.

I am on a goddamned RANT this evening. I live in San Francisco and I don't have a car. My feet are my means of transportation. Texting while driving is illegal here, yet I can't' count the number of morons I see texting in their cars as I walk home. I've come so close to getting crushed in crosswalks, as too many fucking people can't even pay attention to where they're driving.

If people can't stop texting to drive their fucking 3 ton automobiles, how can we expect them to do ANYTHING? This is NOT a rhetorical question!

I walk all over Seattle and drivers are terrible about pedestrians. Maybe it is a little commentary on democracy.

I live in Vancouver which is actually quite similar to San Francisco in many ways. They have been trying to crack down heavily on texting while driving of late. Lot's of public service message ad campaigns and strict fines. Of course it doesn't stop many.
