If tRump actually starts killing off free trade deals that many corporations support (and expect their republican lackeys to protect).

If tRump actually pushes a budget that includes a huge infrastructure (anyone want a wall on the southern border?) increase in spending without removing some other budget items (ACA, SS, etc).

tRump takes office and reveals that he is, in fact, punking the repukes and is actually in favor of climate science, gay rights, trade reform, tax increases on the wealthy, etc. (zero chance of this)

have four years of embarrassment, questionable adherence to party lines, soaring national debt, media investigations into russian connections, an unpopular mostly unvetted president they'll be hard pressed to defend daily, stupid midnight tweets, conflict of interest financial stories, sex scandals, cabinets run by unqualified billionaires, a CIA that has been publicly discounted, and a president whose inner circle knows he can't do the job. No chance of normal WH behavior. A possible panic wave election against the gop in 2018.

On the other hand, the gop could choose a much less volatile Pence / Ryan administration and rely on normal, tried-and-true media dysfunction to convince the public they are acting in their best interests.

Wonder how much the SCOTUS nomination will affect this choice? Wonder if the dems are smart enough to be negotiating behind the scenes with the goprs and exacting a price for backing the gop? I bet there's a LOT of discussion going on.

vetoing a tax cut or something like that would do it, too, but i can't see that one happening.

They have Pence on deck and they control Congress. Most of them would prefer a President Pence anyway. If Trump fucked up in the eyes of an overwhelming majority of the public, Republicans would try to get out in front of it to pose as "good government reformers" willing to take down a President of their own party for the good of the nation. Then they would "govern away" to their heart's content. But they won't raise a finger against Trump as long as the Republican base likes him.

Impeachment requires a majority of the House. Conviction and removal require a 2/3 majority of the Senate. I do not see any possibility of either at this time, no matter what is made public.

Hard to say if Dump is going to just sign what they put in front of him or get involved somehow - refuse to sign a bill for some childish reason like it is sponsored by someone who said something a little critical of him.

It depends on the power dynamic. If the republicans in congress think they can get what they want from Trump they will never impeach. If they think they can get a better deal with Pence Trump might go.

Let's face it. There's plenty there to start impeachment proceedings with. That might be the plan anyway since they've got a sure thing in Pence and Pence could name Ryan VP and next thing you know we've got an even bigger problem in 2020.

In my opinion if they are provided with a good reason that they will impeach Trump, convict him and remove him from office in a heartbeat.

Leading the effort will be John McCain. Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney and Marco Rubio.
