We lost a lot of good people and things in 2016...let's all post here to let each other know we have lived to fight on(hopefully with OTHER people this time).

My only visit there was not a precursor to good things. It was a few-hour layover in 1969...enroute to Vietnam.

I knew too many dozens who died far too young, was seriously wounded myself and nearly died. After that, I didn't expect to live to 30. What the PTSD experts call a sense of foreshortened life expectations.

But pinch me, I'm still here, survived another year, and I'm undaunted by the election result and energized to fight the battles ahead.

So Happy New Year to all of us and best of luck to us in the challenges that lie before us.

(most of them anyway) survived in occupied Europe during WWII. What the repubs will do will not be as obvious as Hitler. Getting by will take good and careful decision making. There will be little room for error. The forgiving environment that many of us are used to will be swept away.
