Trump and Putin: A relationship where mutual admiration is headed toward reality

For much of this year, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have been engaged in a long-distance courtship. They have said kind things about each other in public and separately expressed visions of a mutually agreeable future.

Since Trump’s election, the anticipation has become more explicit. It culminated this week in the U.S. president-elect’s call for America to “move on” from allegations of Russian electoral hacking, and the Russian president’s blithe pronouncement Friday that he would rather plan for a new relationship with Trump than retaliate in kind to sanctions and expulsions ordered by outgoing President Obama.

“Great move on delay (by V. Putin),” Trump tweeted. “I always knew he was very smart!”

But as with all such arms-length pairings, the looming question is whether Trump and Putin will find fulfillment or disappointment once face-to-face reality strikes.

It's more likely to be fulfilling to Putin than Trump. Putin knows he can manipulate that simpleton.

He manipulates Trump. Trump's a tool. I doubt he's ever had a serious logical plan for anything in his life. Putin's just working him like a puppet.

On the other hand, Trump has a guy crush on Trump, who has achieved the kind of power Trump dreams of. It's not a mutual admiration society at all. Trump is simply using Trump for his own ends.

They both know that between Russia and the US they will have the most powerful war machine the Earth has ever seen. Then they can literally conquer the world together.
I'm sure Putin is already plotting how to get rid of Trump once they have accomplished their goal.

Either Putin is playing Trump for a fool, or they are both doing the same to each other.

and the Russian effort to help Trump win the election are just obvious (can we imagine what the repubs and the press would be saying if Hillary Clinton made these statements if our intelligence agencies showed that Russia actively worked to help her win a presidential election?!! The gov would have fallen apart -- yet the press and of course the repubs' willingness to allow Trump to behave in no way that any other pres in our history has behaved is frankly scary)
