Morning Joe Rips Into House GOP for Gutting Ethics Watchdog: Complete Arrogance, Horrific MisstepThe panel of MSNBCs Morning Joe tore into the House Republicans Tuesday after they voted to gut the Committee on Congressional Ethics, a move they panned as dangerous and terrible optics.
Dudes, dudettes, whats wrong with you? asked host Joe Scarborough, himself a former GOP congressman.
Arrive in Washington and vote yourself a get-out-of-jail card, immediately, Mike Barnicle summarized. No investigations, no ethics investigations, no reporting, really.
Republicans have complete power, and their first act out of the gate is just complete arrogance. Its a horrific misstep, Scarborough continued.

(14,379 posts)Between his intern, his inter-office dalliance with his co-host and his highly inappropriate relations/meetings/dealings/support of the new minority elected president, he should tread very carefully when it comes to ethics.

(82,849 posts)I mean, they'd never let their on-air talent appear to be cozying up too much to the people they're supposed to cover. Scarborough is shocked - shocked! - that congressional Republicans wanted to put down the ethics watchdog as their first official act of the new Congress. "Your winnings, sir." "Oh, thank you!"
