Morning Joe Rips Into House GOP for Gutting Ethics Watchdog: ‘Complete Arrogance,’ ‘Horrific Misstep’

The panel of MSNBC’s Morning Joe tore into the House Republicans Tuesday after they voted to gut the Committee on Congressional Ethics, a move they panned as dangerous and terrible optics.

“Dudes, dudettes, what’s wrong with you?” asked host Joe Scarborough, himself a former GOP congressman.

“Arrive in Washington and vote yourself a get-out-of-jail card, immediately,” Mike Barnicle summarized. “No investigations, no ethics investigations, no reporting, really.”

“Republicans have complete power, and their first act out of the gate is just complete arrogance. It’s a horrific misstep,” Scarborough continued.
