which Google translates as 'awesome' - but gives it an an interjection, ie "awesome!" "That's great!" etc. A Russian speaker might say whether it's OK to use it as a simple adjective too.

I spent a little time trying to cut-and-paste letters from the Russian alphabet to create the third word for translation back to English, but I gave up on it.

I thought it MIGHT be a Russian word for "hate" or "stupid," but it apparently means essentially the same thing as "great."

The hat doesn't say Эдорово, but rather здороово, which means "healthy."

The whole thing sounds like someone used a google translator, but just the idea is kinda funny. Considering his choice for EPA head, making America healthy seems to be the last thing on his mind, anyway.

But I'm only familiar with the colloquial use in a few areas (Moscow, Siberia, SPB), and in a country that vast, there might be some areas where it is used to mean that.

A standard Russian version of "take care" when taking leave of someone, for example is "будь здоров (stay healthy)." The double "o" was MY typo! I think I spend too much time in the Netherlands these days.
