I Just Heard America Wasn't An Oligarchy

Wow.

So what people want matters more to politicians than what the people who own the media, and have 50 trillion in wealth want.

will keep telling you that very thing. They got away with it in the Roman Empire for nearly 500 years, as long as they kept the bread ration being doled out and the circuses entertaining.

Our oligarchs have forgotten about the bread and circuses. They won't last nearly as long.

Many of the Founding Fathers were oligarchs. After the French Indian War, Britain acquired the Ohio Territory, but wouldn't let the colonial land speculators move in. This was a major cause of the War of Independence, which was followed by a westward land rush.
