Did Trump know it was illegal to appoint son-in-law to his staff?

Did he know about about the nepotism law that was passed after the Kennedy Administration?

If so, why did he propose hiring Jared Kushner, who is married to his daughter?

What was he thinking??

One might think the laws don't apply to Donald?

That's all I need to know about him.

He did not give him a staff position in the white house. He is a senior advisor which is a poltical appointment drawing no salary from the federal government. Its certainly immoral and smacks of nepotism but it is not covered by the law you are alluding to.

Obviously its a big problem. Trump will try and do anything he can to get his way, including breaking the letter of the law if not the law itself.

Is he just gonna leave the room every time there's a briefing? When it's time for our kids to do that, they're told to 'Stay out of Grown Folks business.'

Some opinions are that the White itself is exempt from complying with that law, just like it is exempt from certain aspects of the Freedom of Information Act.

I'm younger by a few years, but it was quite the controversy at the time. Of course, I'm one of those people who pay attention to things.
