3. The American Dream

We go from someone who so perfectly embodies the American dream. A hard working man, a loving father, smart, funny, and a brilliant speaker to what is coming next. No, of course he was not a perfect president, but I will have a deep unending love for this man and his family.

Peace

It is true that he will be the former President. It is true that he's likely not to be in the spotlight as much. But Barack Obama will always have something that the incoming President lacks "bigly". That is class and eloquence.

However I believe he will be out there on the stump for other Democratic Party candidates. He is at heart a "community organizer" and he just spent the past 8 years attempting to organize the most powerful community on this planet. He is a public servant at heart and he will not be kicking his heels around for the next few decades. I don't recall Presidents Carter, Clinton or even the Bushes just kicking their heels and doing nothing after their Presidency (though the Bushes were arguably less active in public life when compared to Carter and Clinton).

So yes I will miss Obama as being President. However I look forward to him still being in the public eye, albeit in a much less prominent role, still fighting for us, still trying to do good.

He is a good man. Michelle is a good woman. They are a class couple. They have two beautiful daughters.

I'm going to miss him as President. I look forward to his future career, whatever it is he wants to do. But we have not heard the last of him.

It has been a privilege and a pleasure, sir. I bawled my eyes out during your speech. May the road always rise to meet you.

We're going to need him in the run up to the 2018 elections.
