Hillary was up in polls by double digits right before the Comey letter. Things were looking bad for Trump after gropergate broke.

This new info spells out Russian's disappointment with the Trump campaign and the failure of Wikileaks and anti-Clinton smearing disinformation to shift enough voters over to Trump.

Comey interfered strategically right at that time, while covering up the Trump investigation. Importantly, FBI source/s also caused NYTimes to quash it by reporting that there wasn't anything directly indicating a Trump Campaign/Russian collusion, causing all the breaking news stories about this to tamp down right before election.
