The dam might actually break! People wouldn't pay attention to Trump being Putin's bay-bay.

No matter how black things seem today, they WILL get better. This nightmare will all be worth it IF it ruins the Republicans FOREVER. They cannot completely destroy the country-- they simply cannot.

Enormous damage? Yep. Giant financial repercussions? Yep. Nightmare consequences for the environment? Yep.

But the country is ALREADY fucking sick of him and everything he's brought with him. No prez has EVER had approval ratings like this one, and they aren't going to get better.

His behavior is not going to wear well. I promise. You can write this down and come back and check with me after he's gone, as I can ASSURE you he will not be leaving on a good note.

the absolute best case scenario for us is that donnie resigns or gets impeached and removed and pence becomes president.

maybe, maybe, maybe, pence also resigns and ryan becomes president.

yippee do.

republicans still control everything.

maybe even worse yet, the media portrays them as mature and stable and rational.

If the Republicans were somehow forced to impeach Trump, it would cause massive damage to their party. Which would open a route for Democrats to begin whittling away at their majority on state and national levels.

This is why I doubt there's anything Trump can do that would push them to the point of impeachment.

Through a series of maneuvers, manipulations, suppression tactics, gerrymandering, and a social media that encourages misogyny they managed to eke out a fluke win. But the problem they have is they don't represent the country.

The press conference today was a shambles. Chaotic, finger pointing, yelling, messy, obfuscating, evasive, bullying, threatening, you name it. The Cabinet confirmation hearings are a trainwreck. I suppose in two to four years Democrats will be left to clean up the mess as usual, and will get no credit for it.

I hope McConnell is effed over. He's a maggot, a bottom feeder. He's the kind of thing you see when you turn over a stone. Well, the stone has been turned over, so to speak.

Trump isn't in the "club" so they'll bring him and him only down.

The rest will just say they weren't going to comment on an ongoing investigation.

Pence might be collateral damage if they need another sacrifice.

The turtle is going to serve out at least his remaining term.

Therefore, I expect absolutely nothing to come of any of this. Trump gave a perfect preview of their strategy today when he called out CNN and shut them down as "Fake news." Any charge that comes up and they'll yell "Fake news!" and Trumpsky supporters will eat it up as the jerk off to Breitbart.

in the body politic of the US for the last 40 years. The only way to cure an abscess is to lance it. Trump may be the final geyser of foul pus that sets this country free from the scourge of neoliberalism, racism, misogyny, and xenophobia that has held it back from attaining what the Founders intended.

This will not be a pleasant process, but neither was the sloughing off of the theory of the divine right of kings, or any other scourge of humanity. We can and must live through it, supporting each other as best we can.

"We've got the GOP on the ropes!"

"The Republicans are going down because of Trump!!"

"The Republicans have really stepped in it now!!!"

"We are watching the destruction of an American political party!!!"

Yep, any day now that bad news for the GOP is right around the corner.

Once Trump is impeached or resigns, then Pence is impeached or resigned, then Paul Ryan is impeached or resigned, and once we get 61 Senate Seats, and once we either reverse the Republican gerrymandering or do some of our own in blue states, and then manage to win back all those house seats and all those state houses.........then.....boy then the Republicans are truly fucked!!!!

Preibus and McConnell are going to get spattered with the blow back, but a bunch of the GOP hates him almost as much as Dems do. "Little" Marco is probably planning his triumphant return as I type. And the tiny handed, draft dodging bully TAUNTED McCain over his capture by during the Vietnam War. I disagree with John McCain much of the time, but he suffered more for his country than I can ever imagine and he should get some fucking respect for that..... The guy has some ego too. No one runs for prez if they don't.

This could be fun to watch.
