What do you all think of this letter signed by 13 Democratic Senators pleading with the Republican Senate Leaders to work on discussing improvements to the ACA? I have a very negative reaction because the Republicans obviously have no interest in improving the ACS based on their years of doing nothing in this area. But maybe I am missing something.

As an FYI, if you live in VA, please note that both Kaine and Warner signed the letter.

This is a cage match, and a street fight .... accepting that is the first step to saving our country.

(18,652 posts)BTW, this will doubtless not work bc repukes have proven they don't want to work with Dems for 8 yrs. and now they have a "mandate" not to.

(36,534 posts)Great. This is why we are in the dire straights that we're in. The dems have played nice for 35+ years while drifting to the right & now they've been neutered & the GOP has their boot on our neck. But hey, they can still write letters.
But it's better than nothing.
Maybe it's just a start to something bigger.

(91 posts)Thanks everyone for responding. I agree with the points about letters not meaning anything to the GOP and that Democrats have to approach this as a street fight.
Stay tuned.
