http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/top-designers-hollywood-stylists-say-no-thanks-dressing-melania-trump-inauguration-965045Reports are surfacing that Ralph Lauren has been working on something for Melania Trump to wear to one of her many inauguration appearances, though it remains unclear if it's a dress for the big day on Jan. 20.
Lauren was one of a handful of designers Tommy Hilfiger and Diane von Furstenberg among them who said they would dress the incoming First Lady while Marc Jacobs had previously offered a flat "no." THR posed the same question to top Hollywood stylists recently at Marie Claire's second annual Image Maker Awards in Los Angeles.
Cristina Ehrlich says no with respect. "How and why she used to dress was one sort of reason and sensibility and now, it's going to be very different," says Ehrlich, whose clients include Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Kendrick, Tina Fey and Priyanka Chopra. "I really have watched what she's done and the choices she's made, and they have great respect to them and a sophistication. I'm interested to see where she's going to go with [her style], but it's not something I would be interested in."
Power pair Kate Lee and Mark Townsend (clients include Elizabeth Olsen) both responded with a quick "no comment," while Jennifer Aniston's longtime hairstylist teased a more thoughtful answer. "I definitely have my ideas of what I would do with both Melania and the president-elect. It's in my head."

(2,897 posts)diversifying their runways and print, I'd be surprised if they passed up the chance to dress a skinny Central (?) European woman. It is interesting how things are lining up. Most of the designers that I see willing to dress her are straight. Diane is "married" to Barry Diller, which is confusing given the obvious circumstances, so maybe she's pretty conservative in her personal life.
