Totally understandable, and by all means, don't. If you're turning it off to hurt his ratings? Well, they don't actually tally every tv that's on into those ratings. It's more like polling. Unless you are a Neilsen's ratings household your viewing is not counted in the ratings anyway. Just FYI.

If it wasn't for the deeply discounted rate my husband gets from work, we'd have pulled the plug long ago. It's practically free right now, so we keep it on, but we do end up streaming most watching because commercials.
