Is this verified?

(101,311 posts)which is the Obama org, and the latest of the 'OFA's that stretch back to 'Obama for America'.
The .org address, however, is owned by a proxy.
obama.org, however, goes to a proper 'Obama Foundation' page.

(777 posts)Mr President,
When I was a National Park Ranger and explaining to kids the place of the NPS in the federal government, I enjoyed telling them I worked for this cool African American dude who lives in this big white house in DC. If I hadn't retired 2 years ago, I would have to today; I would have shame, rather than pride, in who I worked for.
Thank you for all you have done for our country, and please keep working to oppose the destruction of the programs that are so important to all Americans.
Thank you
JR

(4,544 posts)I haven't slept. I cried on and off all night.
"We love you back."
I needed that. They knew WE would need that. It calms me to think that they wanted us to know that today, and cared enough to say they are still with us.
It's like that hug they share in that beautiful photo got extended to all of us.
I do feel better. Thank you for posting this mobeau!

(70 posts)I know this isn't likely the time to point this out. But I went to check out who was on the volunteer board and there are 8 men and 3 women. It has a terrific amount of racial diversity, but in terms of gender equality, it is woefully bad. Germany recently set a rule that its boards needed to be 40% female. And the UN has proven that 30% is a magic number. If you're below 30%, which Obama's board is, the voices of women go much less heard.
This board is also heavily tilted towards Capital. Another thing I appreciate about Boards in Germany is that labor has a seat at the table. I think the members of Obama's board and the Obamas care about the people and want to do good. But they are the elites of the elites. Just imagine having a seat for a National Teacher of the Year, someone with real life experience amongst the masses.
