Democrats on the Senate intelligence committee threatened to walk out,...

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/senate-russia-hacking-investigation-trump-233836

How the Senate's Russian meddling probe almost blew up

Democrats led by Sen. Mark Warner threatened to boycott an Intelligence Committee investigation after a top Republican said Trump's campaign would be off-limits.

Sen. Mark Warner couldn’t believe what his Republican counterpart on the Senate Intelligence Committee had just done.

With no advance notice, Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) declared to reporters that his panel wouldn’t look into possible collusion between Donald Trump’s campaign and Moscow as part of its investigation of Russian interference in the election. So Warner, a Virginia Democrat who is the panel’s ranking member, promptly enlisted every Democrat on the committee to oppose Burr’s move and presumably boycott the investigation if he didn't reverse himself, according to congressional sources.

Barely 24 hours later, Burr issued a lengthy statement backtracking on his own comments. The committee would indeed examine “links between Russia and individuals associated with political campaigns” as part of its larger election-hacking probe, Burr wrote in a joint statement with Warner.

The implicit boycott threat, described by three sources with knowledge of the behind-the-scenes effort, illustrates the uneasy partnership between Burr and Warner as their committee assumes one of the toughest assignments in Washington. The two are seeking to maintain a bipartisan spirit on a committee now tasked with getting to the bottom of the biggest question hanging over Trump as he prepares to take the oath of office — whether his campaign coordinated with Russia.

My parents only voted republican one time in their life. They voted for Eisenhower and my grandparents found out , and almost disowned them for that.. My grandparents who lived through great depression knew that republican were nothing but crooks . I was born in 1951 and it's my generation that really push this bullshit " Pull yourself up by the bootstrap bullshit ". All we had on tv were westerns about doing exactly this.

Well, that cockamamie buzzphrase "pull yourself up by the bootstrap" only makes sense if you have boots to begin with. Preferably with a designer label. Doesn't apply to anyone else. And doesn't think it has to.

He fought against the Nazis and he voted against Republicans. For as long as he could remember, Republicans always stood for big business and were always against the working person. It was a bread and butter issue for him.

Were he alive today, he'd witness the confluence of Nazism and Republicanism. Trumpy aides and abets white supremacists and Nazis. And he'll continue to do so as president.

And thanks, JudyM, too.

Positive reinforcement when they do something good. They need to be carefully and relentlessly steered. Directed, instructed, and steered.

And when somebody like Warner does good, he needs calcium supplement for his emerging backbone.

Do what proper parenting recommends:

REWARD and REINFORCE Good Behavior! (And Good Behavior ONLY.) Make sure all bad behavior is checked and discouraged, and even punished. Make damn sure it's NOTICED, EVERY time they cave, or even consider playing ball with the bad guys. EVERY time they step out of line or otherwise collaborate with the enemy, they need to be told - "no more campaign donations for you! I'm working for your Democratic replacement!"

it's a question if it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt and if Trump knew about the coordination. Oh, and if Republicans will get on board with those conclusions if proven. (They might be okay with President Pence if Trump's popularity continues to edge downward...)

Fri Jan 20, 2017, 02:05 PM
Jan 2017

the money trail is muddy and obscure.

Real estate prices fluctuate so a Russian LLC needing $ laundering buys a $3 million apt. for $6 million from Trump and what happens with the extra $3 million? Russian keeps it and probably gives a kickback to Trump so he can be bailed out of his 7th bankruptcy.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/1/9/1618540/-Was-Donald-Trump-bailed-out-of-bankruptcy-by-Russia-crime-bosses?detail=email&link_id=2&can_id=d26754c22c62898db18d04b7ba8ebc7b&source=email-perverted-sex-with-russian-prostitutes-kickbacks-bribes-and-other-trump-follies-revealed&email_referrer=perverted-sex-with-russian-prostitutes-kickbacks-bribes-and-other-trump-follies-revealed&email_subject=perverted-sex-with-russian-prostitutes-kickbacks-bribes-and-other-trump-follies-revealed

In 2008, Donald Trump Jr. attended a real estate conference, where he stated that

Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.

As it turns out, that may have been an understatement. Human rights lawyer Scott Horton, whose work in the region goes back to defending Andrei Sakharov and other Soviet dissidents, has gone through a series of studies by the Financial Times to show how funds from Russian crime lords bailed Trump out after yet anther bankruptcy. The conclusions are stark.

Among the powerful facts that DNI missed were a series of very deep studies published in the that examined the structure and history of several major Trump real estate projects from the last decade—the period after his seventh bankruptcy and the cancellation of all his bank lines of credit. ...

The money to build these projects flowed almost entirely from Russian sources. In other words, after his business crashed, Trump was floated and made to appear to operate a successful business enterprise through the infusion of hundreds in millions of cash from dark Russian sources.

He was their man.

Can you imagine if this were Hillary we were learning about?

Repugs are after all big entitled oligarch babies and Burr didn't want to be totally outted as a partisan hack. Of course, If Dems hadn't fought back, there would be no investigation. Burr will still do everything possible to keep Drumpf out of the spotlight and this is far from the end. Dems are going to have to fight those rw asses every step of the way to get anywhere near the truth about the orange assface criminal.
