Why not Howard Dean to head the DNC?

The DNC needs to get started ASAP targeting districts for 2018 and recruiting strong candidates. I know that Howard Dean has taken his name out of the running and I haven't followed the details. But, given the success he had in 2006 and 2008 of an expansive national strategy that worked, wouldn't he be one of the best options? We could use someone that's been there before, knows how things work, and has a track record of success.

I guess that when Dean took the job, he was new to it, so that doesn't mean that new blood can't succeed, but I'd think we need a savvy strategists who can counter all the machinations that will be coming from the other side.

with any of the current candidates for the job.

Sad that Howard Dean dropped out.

I've already prepared myself to be in the political wilderness for a while. Which I'm okay with for the time being.

He said he didn't want the job. I assume he didn't want the pay cut.

Prediction: Ellison is gonna purity tested as soon as he gets the chairmanship. He's not gonna pass either. He'll be tossed under the bus ASAP.

Those crazy radicals are always throwing staunch supporters of the party establishment under a bus it seems. Hopefully we can root out all those crazy radicals with their crazier radical ideas and keep the status quo, because that has been such an overwhelming success.

I'm rooting for Keith Ellison.

I'm gonna stand by him when the ideologues try to destroy him, as they are attempting to destroy Senator Warren.

Hang on gonna get a link to an op-ed by Jordan Chariton, from The Young Turks.

Here you go:

That's Ellison's future as soon as he takes the job. He's already been villified as not being 'pure' enough based on a some of his pro-Democratic tweets.

He's a tough guy, I look forward to his chairmanship.

If he thought everyone wanted him, he might do it. I don't care if he's worked as a lobbyist, we need his experience.

If Keith Ellison resigns his position to do the job full-time, I could see him doing a great job as well.

I like Van Jones, but nobody mentions him anymore since I saw his name right after the election. Jones has experience fundraising for and leading progressive organizations.

14. Howard wants to avoid a fight, and will not get into one

He'd like to do it, and of course, has his incredible credentials from last time.

However, he sees a fight for he post as destructive, and refuses to get into one. If recruited, he will gladly serve, although Judy will probably have him fitted for a leash if he ends up on the road as much as he was last time. So, the DNC would have to come to him this time, and he doesn't see it happening as of right now.
