Disorder has broken out in Washington DC amid tight security ahead of Donald Trump's inauguration.

A group of masked protesters, some carrying flags bearing the anarchist symbol, were filmed smashing windows, running through the streets and clashing with police.

One man dressed in black smashed the window of a McDonald's with a hammer, while others tipped over bins around an hour before the start of Mr Trump's ceremony.

Police responded with tear gas, pepper spray, stun grenades and water cannon to disperse the protesters, who fled away from lines of officers.

Several people were arrested, including a reporter covering the protests for Russia Today, who had been broadcasting live from within a crowd of protesters.

They do not share your goals. If there are anarchists at the front of the line, find another protest group. Slip out the back and reassemble where the anarchists are not.

I think they can generally be assumed to have some infiltrators among them, and instigators too. But this is not new or unusual and I would be reluctant to call it 'false flag'. If you are at protests and see a bunch of mostly young dudes in mostly all black with their faces covered, don't follow them.

was unsure whether I thought this was a false flag operation because the protesters seemed too willing to be abused by the cops *not* to believe in what they were doing. But now, thinking about it, I'm convinced this was a fake demonstration orchestrated by RW forces, mostly because of the window-breaking. What the hell was *that* about, if not to turn public opinion against the protesters. No Demo goal seemed involved in the demonstration, and the fact that they all dressed alike seems fishy to me, too.
