(33,348 posts)when I went to get a manicure at 1 pm. And the salon did it.
Then some white guy came in for a pedicure and asked it be turned on. My nail tech--who I've gone to for 12 years--
asked the owners to turn it on--with the sound off--at my request. So at least nobody had to listen to the pundits.

(2,679 posts)I played guitar this morning for mass. Wore all black. The priest went on about unity the idiot hitler supporters chimed in amen.
They excepted me to play some patriotic tunes like I did on election day. I played those beautifully too on election day. But then the russians did the coupe thing I took two weeks off. Upon my return I found out I was not welcomed back. At church! I serve as a sacristan or did. I don't know.
I also played guitar. But apparently during my exile the music was horrid, so I was asked back for that. BTW I am not paid. I probably should be. Anyway the banning was mostly political both US politics and personality politics. During my vacation the old hitler voters felt empowered like the ones demanding coffee saying I vote for Trump jerks.
Anyway to make a short story long. The faces were really sad when the closing song happened. I didn't do one that was sung. I took a funeral hymn and doodled it on the guitar.
Fuck that orange turd!

(9,212 posts)I slept a lot after cleaning till 5 am. Now to work on teaching preparation and out to a movie later prolly. I read some articles on it elsewhere and here and I'm horrified so far. I feel depressed and anxious again. I've been doing lots of me things and keeping focused on tons of stuff that needed attention to make myself feel better and taking care of my new kitten and it helped alot but now I feel awful again.

(7,637 posts)I did google to get a picture of Hillary at the Inaug. and that just undid me. I closed the computer in tears - turned on Tennis just in time to see my HERO Roger Federer beat the heck out of his opponent! Then made a casserole. Thanks for the reporting on DU. I like to see the photos of the non-crowds and the protests!
Stay strong and hopeful.

(27,248 posts)Was going to go out but decided I didn't need to spend any money today.
Was going to work on cleaning out my late mother's house but my sister cancelled on me because she was sick. I think she was depressed about today and didn't want to admit it to me. I'm usually the politicial junkie but I just can't let something I can't control get me down. But I made my sign for the woman's march tomorrow!

(5,903 posts)been helping my wife brew her entry for our next beer competition. It's a red IPA, but I think this 'inauguration ale' may wind up with a little extra bitterness.
I will most likely watch the replay of the ignore-uration tomorrow night, at 11:30, on NBC. I think that one will be MUCH better than today's farce.

(36,975 posts)Ignore-uration perfectly describes that circus, except that human elephants, rather than the real ones, were performing!
