Alt-right leader punched in face during TV interview

Richard Spencer, a prominent alt-right activist and white nationalist, was punched Friday during an interview amid Inauguration Day protests.

Spencer was speaking to ABC News Washington bureau chief Zoe Daniel when a demonstrator struck him across the face.

The alt-right figure responded on Twitter shortly after the incident, saying there was “no serious damage” done, and that he could “take a punch.”

Spencer is the president of the white nationalist National Policy Institute, and has drawn national attention in recent months for his support for President Trump. Spencer said last month that he was considering a congressional bid.

5. We should always promote non violence as a tactic. It is important to

make sure our message does not get lost by a crime. It would be good if the same person had words that would hit just as hard. That's our weapon against hate.

10. If you can "take a punch" it doesn't mean you run off, or merely survive it.

One would think it means you still keep your self respect by NOT running for cover, or claiming you may have to get a bodyguard.

Spencer might have gotten himself together enough to give off some bravado. But right after he was punched he didn't look so smug. He got it right in the chops and it looked like the person landed a powerful wallop.
