Many German-American families, as you know, anglicized their last names during World War I. The Drumpfs, famously, changed it to Trump, and in Ken Mars' case (or rather, his father) it was probably Martz.

It's a new version, updated for the drumpts. ivanka should be hawking it soon.

As an aside, watch ivanka in any press conference and you'll see her do this thing where she runs her hand down her hair so that everyone can see her bracelet - the one she's hawking. It's a very practiced move, subtle and sleek. Con artist 101 - "look at the pretty shiney thing I own, bet you'd love to have one!"

Y'know, the thousands and thousands of pro-Drumpf bikers, that were supposed to show their support, and augment the presence and impenetrable force of the Secret Service, Capital PD, and National Guard?

Diverted by a two-for-one drinks special at TGI Fridays in the 'burbs?

Ran out of gas -- and guts -- on the PA Turnpike, or D.C. beltway?

Or couldn't get time off from work at the sewage treatment plant in their respective hometowns?

around 50 degrees and wet. I was out and about in a hoodie and was fine.

The funny part was the timing of the rain. It started just around the time Dumpy started speaking and didn't end until his inauguration and parade were over

Mr. Trump said that though he had been “hit by a couple of drops” of rain as he began his address on Inauguration Day, the sky soon cleared. “And the truth is, it stopped immediately, and then became sunny,” he said. “And I walked off, and it poured after I left. It poured.”

The truth is that it began to rain lightly almost exactly as Mr. Trump began to speak and continued to do so throughout his remarks, which lasted about 18 minutes, and after he finished.

I agree that pense will be as bad or worse. pense would never have won the election, he's horrible. People need a villain and drumpts makes the perfect face for that, really he's just the republican addenda on steroids. If drumptf leave, the agenda will still go forward.

I watched the parade for a bit, and when the camera panned down the stands, stopping at the trump's little building, you could clearly see that the stands were practically empty even close to that building where the trumps were viewing. It was, um, sad. And the trumps all looked like they couldn't wait for it to be over so their suffering would end.

I've had time to think about this overnight. The reason I am certain this is not from the inauguration is the clothing being worn.

These stands are directly behind the White House. This is the plaza where people play roller hockey. It has been closed to traffic for years. This is prime territory. For the inauguration, people would be dressed in suits, the finest garments they owned.

Look at them. They're wearing Tommy Hilfiger ski parkas from Ross Dress for Less and hoodies from Banana Republic.

I haven't read LaydeeBug's post, but she says she was told this is a fake. It's not a fake, and it's not Photoshopped. It's just not from January 20 and the inauguration.

Nope, this is from the rehearsal.

Seriously, the people who would be in the stands behind the White House would be dressed up. You don't get those tickets on eBay. For a lot of them, it would be a once in a lifetime experience. They'd make sure they were wearing their best attire.

I went to Google Images. I came up with lots of pictures. It seems to me that people should be better dressed, considering the location of the stands. I don't mean that as an admonishment; I say that based on pictures from previous inaugurations.

Anyway, the pictures are revealing. Here are some links:

No One Came to Donald Trump’s Little Parade

There were a lot of empty seats in the stands along Trump's parade route

William Cummings, USA TODAY Published 6:26 p.m. ET Jan. 20, 2017 | Updated 8:30 p.m. ET Jan. 20, 2017

I did not watch the parade on TV or listen to it on the radio. This thread is the first place I've seen pictures of the empty stands.

I am surprised, but I am wrong regardless.

I can just imagine how steamed Snowflake is. I'll get over it, but he won't.

Best wishes.
