Can we please give a hand to all the wonderful marchers in the Women's Marches

across the country, some of whom had to make an enormous effort -- boarding airplanes, buses, and trains, and sleeping on couches, in order to participate?

AND to the organizers who conceived of the plan and put so many hours and days into making it happen.

THANK YOU for whatever you had to do to be a part of that historical moment. Thank you for inspiring us all. Thank you for giving us a visible sign of the love and humanity that's still out there, and for giving us all a little more hope.

9. It was cold and rainy in San Francisco but it felt so good to be out there

My hubby and I were chilled to the bone last night but happy we marched.

Everyone was nice and happy to be there protesting chump. No rudeness, convivial crowd and fired up and ready to fight back attitude.

21. We were in Sac... it was cold and windy, but we didn't get rained on during the march.

Everything you said about the people at the march was true here as well. We were all polite, kind, caring, and FIRED UP! It was very healing for me and my family. At our march, there were lots of children, people with babies in strollers, well-behaved, friendly dogs on leashes. We all got along fabulously.

I have to say, I was also impressed with how well we were protected by the Sacramento PD. Every intersection was blocked for several blocks in either direction, and the officers stationed nearest to us were mostly, if not all, women. People loved this, and little girls often ran over and gave them hugs, which they knelt and returned. No one who wished us harm could have approached us once we were on the move. I felt protected in a way I have never felt before in a political march.

I am impressed with ALL of us, nationwide, worldwide. We are strong, and we are not gonna take this.

The police in SF were also very respectful and no one was arrested. I love that there were female officers.

I was planning to go but got ill (nothing serious, but the sort of thing where you can't leave home). I followed it on CSPAN with tears in my eyes; happy ones this time!

Heartfelt thanks to all the women around the country, and around the world, for showing our strength and commitment to democracy. Men, too; I was glad to see all the wonderful men at the marches!

I know how fortunate I am to be able to March and I know full well that you and many others are supportive and will continue to do the important work of making phone calls, writing letters (to Congresspersons and to newspaper editors), continuing to March/Protest when able, educating (y)ourselves about issues, talking to neighbors, etc., etc....

And the organizers were phenomenal as well as inspirational, we have momentum because of them.

And a shout out to my husband, who has Multiple Sclerosis--he can't march, and his wheelchair didn't have the battery life for a march with those numbers of people. So he stayed at the beginning point and he listened to his scanner and announced updated numbers to the announcers, from 100,000, to 120,000, to 130,000, on up. (I saw an updated post in Pantsuit nation that said Seattle had 175,000 people, but I haven't verified it) When he expresses sadness that he could be part of the march, I tell him, "oh no, you were a part of it, you were there, you count"

(I'm putting him to work making lots of congressional calls when I'm at work-he's really good at that kind of thing)

34. Marched in LA

My husband and I drove down from the Portland, OR area to march with our best friends in the LA March. There were people of all ages, races, sexes, etc. Awesome is the best word that comes to mind, along with inspiring. Everyone was respectful and motivated. What an incredible day, and a day that my husband and I will never forget!

35. I knew my back can't handle this anymore

but I vowed to get a scooter if needed in the future.

My sister, nieces and great nieces were at the one in Madison!!

Yesterday, here in the St. Louis area, we had sunshine after about 8 days of clouds. That and knowing women all over the world were uniting brought a magical feel to a mid-winter day!!!

tRump will be in the history books, but these marchers will be right there on the page next to it!!

36. I did have to deal with one really nasty parking lot attendent

The arms to block entrance were left open and a bunch of us parked in the lot where the rally started.

He was really pissed when we went to leave.

I marched in my town with my 14 year old daughter it was an amazing experience. 1,000's marched with us.

It was my first march and protest.

Nice turnout, great weather. Lots of families, huge age range, all very friendly and positive. Speakers a little difficult to hear, but people seemed to enjoy each other and reading signs. Lots hung out after it was over. I thanked a policeman for being respectful (they were present and watchful, but not at all intimidating) and he beamed, said thanks, shook my hand, and wished us a safe trip home. Walked along the canal afterward and whenever we spied a group with hats or signs, we'd wave and smile at each other. Great day!

We love the quiet tiny town we live in out on the prairie, we really do - But the Trumpists are every where and the usual mid western politeness seems to have been abandoned by all too many of them

48. Marched in DC, thankful for all that marched around the world.

no troubles, no arrests, everyone in great spirits, treating each other well even in difficult situations of overcrowding.

The parade came to a grinding halt because there were just too many marchers on Independence, so many split off on spontaneous marches in other directions across the mall, down Constitution, down Pennsylvania. Extraordinary patience.

People were cheering each other on the subway platforms as we were waiting for the trains to leave after it was all over.

Very uplifting.
