Is there any proof that MLK bust wasn't removed then put back in the oval office later?

Snopes said it wasn't removed but I'm not convinced. IMO they could have been setting up the press. Maybe this was a Donald Segretti style "rat fucking" operation. Does anyone know for sure?

but it's possible it was actually removed to storage, then, after the removal story, they moved it back in and started whining about the press lying. Is there indisputable proof that is was never removed?
