1. Football, probably

I noticed it was lighter traffic when I was out too. Big games before the Super Bowl.

6. I often time grocery shopping when the Broncos are playing

And the further they make it into the season, the deader town gets during a game. It's delightful grocery shopping during really anticipated football games. A benefit to not being a football fan

7. This was around noontime. I agree with you: America is in mourning.

Folks around here should have been out and about, shopping or on the way home from church.

Thanks for going to the march.

8. I was replacing a lamp base that we've rewired 3 times.

We won't be buying new if we can repair it.

11. I'm buying tools and raw materials, but only used, and if I can't make it, it's time to learn.

Small, local businesses? Yup. Big boxes? Not if I can help it.

Right now, the only thing I anticipate needing to buy except for food, paper products and consumables are tights and men's underwear. Everything else? I've got a tool and the raw materials.

I knew my fabric stash was in service of the future.

9. Been this way for

three weekends now. Here in Vegas if you get any help at a store on Saturday or Sunday, you hit the Jackpot. Not these last few week ends.

10. I haven't been out any more than absolutely necessary since the election.

Stayed out of malls altogether to avoid the shopping madness between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Then we had major car troubles requiring us to junk the pickup truck and replace it with a small used hatchback.

Since I'm retired I can avoid driving in bad weather because I don't want to risk someone hitting me.

After the fog lifted a bit today I just wanted a bit of fresh air.

The store I stopped in seemed like it was running a skeleton crew. Long lines at the 4 check-outs that were open. About 20 registers were closed.

All in all, a very depressing trip.
