He never respected our military. Now, we have a president who does. The old lady can find her own way inside.

(156,990 posts)I sure haven't seen any, that I can think of.
And you think Trump respects our military?
Again, I'd like to see some hard data on this.

(2,795 posts)I've been seeing posts on FB with pictures of Trump saluting the marine at Air Force One and Trumpbots salivating about how respectful he is. Finally, they say.

(98,466 posts)Add the sarcasm thing. You post does not come off well without it.
I just assume that everyone at DU would know that anyone that blatantly anti-Obama, Pro-Trump would not be here talking like that. If they were, they'd be sly and sneaky trying to cause trouble - a troll.
But I'll be more evident so as not to confuse
sheshe2
(98,466 posts)Sadly there are a few people that could cause you trouble.
Thanks meadowlark. Better to be safe.

(10,459 posts)jumped on big time. For about a year, I posted several lines of sarcasm smilies after every sarcastic post in order to embed that rule into my consciousness.
meadowlark5
(2,795 posts)I have a private group of friends on FB, real life ones and friends that live in my computer, and we talk very sarcastically about Trump and the idiotic comments said by his supporters. We get each other and know that anything like I just said here is total sarcasm.
I need to be more careful as, even though this is a lib/progressive board, I'm talking to a far wider range of people here.
Lesson learned!!

Thank you for clarifying.

(53,387 posts)Facebook however, is another story. NOBODY on the right gets sarcasm on Facebook. I've gotten thumbs-up from RWers who think I'm serious.

(8,361 posts)I have noticed for a long time. His wife is always a step behind, being a proper trophy wife. Poor Baron always looks unhappy. The only time I saw him a bit animated was while he was watching the parade. They both seem "obedient."

sheshe2
(98,466 posts)Yes there is the money, yet none of us can know for sure how she feels. Don is a cruel man that has no respect for women, he may very well be holding the threat of taking Barron away from her if she steps out of line. I would not put that past him.

(1,190 posts)Melania and Michelle were talking to one another off to the side when President Obama placed his hand on Trump's back to direct him inside. Both Obama and Michelle assisted Melania afterwards.
There are plenty of other examples of Trump ignoring Melania. This wasn't one of them. Trump simply followed Obama's lead.

In any case President Obama should have, by protocol, followed Trump but he was more interested in making sure that Mrs. Obama and Mrs. Trump didn't feel slighted.

(1,190 posts)The problem for me now is that when I see something posted by Occupy Democrats I will be reluctant to believe it without verifying it for myself. There is enough misleading photos and fake news spread by the right. I don't think we on the left need to follow suit.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
