Senate committee moving forward with Russia hacking probe - The Hill

The Senate Intelligence Committee is moving forward with its probe into Russian meddling in the U.S. presidential race.

Sens. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Mark Warner (D-Va.), the top members on the committee, made the announcement after the intelligence panel held its weekly closed-door briefing on Tuesday.
<snip>

Trump has repeatedly denied ties between his team and Moscow, as well as the CIA's finding that Russia meddled in the election to help secure his victory.

But Tuesday's statement from Burr and Warner comes as the FBI and five other agencies are reportedly investigating if Russia secretly helped Trump win the election. - The Hill

By the time our slow moving system of investigative inquiries catches up to this thief, the damage will have already been done. Every day thus far has been like a city sized wrecking ball crashing into our institutions.

As long as the KGOP has control of the Senate, nothing will happen. OregonBlue Jan 2017 #1
I'd temper that, given the level of activism we're seeing in support of democracy. ffr Jan 2017 #2

If the IC comes forth with crimes and the KGOP covers it up to protect one of their own, there's going to be a revolt, the kind of thing that many uber-elites are already planning for. This includes at least one member of tRump's transition team, recently taking citizenship in another country, just in case.

The super rich are worried about the poor grabbing “pitchforks” to overthrow the wealthy, and it turns out these elites aren’t just buying homes. Some, like Peter Thiel, are even getting citizenship.
