why is it wrong to torture enemies, presumably terrorists, but it's acceptable to punch a Nazi in the head?

The poll here makes it clear (27-0) as of this post, that few, if any, DUers advocate torture. But many DUers have emphatically condoned assaulting someone who is a self-professed Nazi.

Granted torture is more severe than a blow to the head, but a strike to someone's skull can result in unconsciousness and even death if they bounce their cranium off the sidewalk.

I oppose both measures, for the record, unless it's a matter of self-defense or intervening where someone else is being physically attacked.
