A former Moderate Democratic US House member turned current liberal Democratic United States Senator has voted against almost all of Trump's cabinet appointees. If Gillibrand (D-NY) seeks the 2020 Democratic Presidential nomination and wins, how would she do in the electoral college vote if she chooses one of the Castro twins as her VP runningmate?

(13,837 posts)We need to hope there will still be elections in a little over 21 months and that a national voter purge and suppression effort doesn't make them anything but show elections.

And we need to defeat Republican incumbents in AZ (Flake) and NV (Heller).

(220,128 posts)She was my congresswoman here in NY-20, ending Republican representation so entrenched that the Democratic party often didn't bother to field a candidate. She was extremely popular here and has done us proud as senator. She's obviously not afraid to speak out and stand up for what she believes in and I think she has a bright future whatever she decides to do.

(220,128 posts)She was my congresswoman here in NY-20. When she first ran (and won) in 2006, President Clinton came to this small burg to campaign for her which certainly didn't hurt. This is a largely Republican area, but it was SRO, no doubt to see him. I was there and it was pretty exciting!

Watching them all closely, and hope to see Franken in the quest. And perhaps Klobuchar.
Our next field need more national prominence to have a good chance.
Hope Hillary does not run and suck the life out of the next tier. We need her and Obama as guides and cheerleaders.
Just my opinion as a geezer, anxious to see the torch passed to worthy successors.
