Border guards asking opinion of Trump?

Reports are coming in that tourists are being asked this as well. Is this strictly at airports or at at Canadian and Mexico border as well. This needs to be documented. I am checking Canadian media no reports yet.

The first was the Canadians turned away for the women's march and then yesterday at JFK.

But I remember seeing signs that it's illegal to have cell phones turned on in the CBP line.

Also, if you drive through with an active dashcam, they order you to turn it off.

This was a couple years ago, but I can't imagine that they have eased up now.

I have more than 500 Customs Officers as clients and they are not very political as a group, much less politically engaged individually or as a group than other federal employees IMO.

Moreover when they go to work they know that they leave any personal opinions behind and are simply busy looking for bad documents or illegal drugs.

In addition a high percentage of Customs Officers on the Southern border are Hispanic (many naturalized) because of the need to have fluency in Spanish.

It should be noted that Customs Officers are not in the AFGE but in the Treasury Union. The Treasury Union was an early endorser of Secretary Clinton:
