(54,497 posts)they can seize anything, everything and there is nothing anyone can do about it
THIS is where they're headed, and we're headed
Somebody in Washington, in Congress, better wake up
Also time for the Courts to step up, hold these people in contempt
This is a BLITZKRIEG strategy that is being taken before our eyes

(54,497 posts)if the Courts are stripped of their power by being ignored or staffed with corporate moles?
You?

(27,317 posts)Don't confuse a little sleight of hand on the WH web site with actual power. Neither the courts nor Congress would allow that to happen. If they did, they'd be ceding their power to the president. Can you spell "I-M-P-E-A-C-H-M-E-N-T?

(54,497 posts)Will the Courts step forward with contempt of court citations?
They haven't thus far. Authorities continue to detain arrivals at the airports.
And some GOP appointed judges will side with the Trump administration.
The GOP Congress is not going to do anythint to impede Trump except
mumble disapproval once on awhile. They are getting all they want ideologically,
and Trump is their man. This is why it is SO important for the public to continue
to RESIST!
So I would say don't confuse the legal structure in the US as it has operated and
evolved over the last 200 years with what is actually happening in regards the current
immigration enforcement issue in the struggle between the Executive and the Courts.
Constitutional lawyers will have to pull every precendent they can muster to attempt
to stop this power grab. It's Nixonian.

(27,317 posts)...letting anybody know in advance. The courts are slow-moving, but when Congress acts, they can stop Trump in his tracks and the courts will move against him with inexorable force. We are just beginning the fight.
