Trump voters feel "safer". I actually don't doubt that they do...

There's a CNN article up discussing how Trump supporters feel safer under Trump and plaudit his immigration ban.

I don't doubt that they do feel safer. Because they are eternally living in the terror of Fox News land where every brown skinned person is seen as a potential suicide bomber. Every time they speak any other language other than English they panic because what they hear is collusion, they must be talking about me. Never mind that they are probably discussing family gossip, like every other person on the planet. Non English signs are unwelcoming, threatening. They live in a land of utter paranoia. So I don't doubt that they feel safer when Trump talks about banning all Muslims and I don't doubt they will cheer mass deportations. Get the drug dealers and rapists out of here. Never mind that most of the dealers, users and rapists are white.

And of course all of this just makes them less safe as a terrorist attack is now much more likely.

But no they just want to feel cozy and comfy in the protective iron grip of tyranny. Guess what you fucking idiots. There is a price to pay for freedom. You who talk till you are blue in the face about American exceptionalism and the amazing free country it is. That freedom comes at a price. And no it is NOT the blood of patriotic soldiers like you so commonly like to parrot. That freedom is bought at the price of absolute comfort, and yes security. Because of course the most secure of all possible worlds is a dictatorship. I hope you feel happy signing away your precious free America in the name of comfort. In exchange you will get neither security nor freedom, nor comfort.

They feel safer. It does not mean that they are safer. And Trump voters want to believe in the con man's promises. That makes it easy for the con man to deceive them.

Think about that for a while. Any red blooded American will fight to the death to preserve his freedom.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Nowhere does it say, only if we like your values, only after extreme vetting. Modern America was founded on this rock. These are principals you are throwing out the window upon which your society has been founded for generations.

Accepting your "huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore" is not risk free. It never was supposed to be. It's done because America was supposed to stand for compassion, for true freedom. If you don't like the values of the people who come here, if you think they are backwards or dangerous. Then show them a better way by how you live, by accepting them without question, without condescension and condemnation. Do what you think they would not. Compassion and acceptance, even when you don't agree with the other side, is the power to change. That is true freedom.

My ex (divorced a loooooong time ago) actually had a heart attack. Docs said he needed a bypass but gave him a stint instead because he was uninsured. They don't have to give the best or even most proper treatment, they just have to save your life.

My daughter explained to him he could get Obamacare at a very reduced cost and offered to help him do it. He refused. Still refuses... because it is "Obama"care. I shit thee not. His hatred of Obama is more important to him than his own life.

Yep.

10. Ignorance

Ignorance likely also plays a role in their feeling safer. They most likely do not know that it is being said that none of the countries that are listed under Trump's Muslim terrorist ban have produced Muslim terrorist in the United States for about 30 years while 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia, which is among the countries not on the list. Maybe I am being too hard on Trump's supporters, but it is very likely his supporters do not know the names of the countries that are listed on the ban.
