Presumably he wanted out badly, but Ryan wanted a contact point in the WH to monitor what is happening. Fits into prior discussions about three or four power bases in the WH jockeying for position. Bannon v Kushner v Preibus v Conway
Not sure where the truth lies, but it is plausible

He's more of a main stream Republican and has definitely made the mistake of a lifetime by hitching his wagon to this crazy train.

Not sure where the truth lies, but it is plausible



And if Preibus is seeing shadows in this WH I suspect they are actually there.
