Democrats who voted for Tillerson

In addition to every single Republican Senator voting to confirm big oil titan and Putin BFF Rex Tillerson, the following Democrats joined in as well...

Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.), Mark Warner (Va.) and Independent Sen. Angus King (Maine) joined all Republicans in backing Trump's nominee. Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) skipped the vote.

Susan Collins for one. There are some Republicans from blue states that often vote with Dems. Most have been defeated, primaried and then replaced with Democrats. The same with Dems like Landrieu, since replaced with a Republican.

There are some Republicans who have come out against Devos.

The increasing polarization of politics hurts Democrats , since geographically and in terms of districts, most of the country is conservative.

take the seat (someone to the left of Munchin wouldn't get it). However, we're that much further away from a majority (which matters for being able to Chair Committees, and actually set the agenda). Just say'n. I don't disagree that it's incredibly frustrating and basically only worth what I just said.

The Republican Senator who most vote with the Democrats votes with us 27% of the time. Regardless of any claims of someone being a DINO or a RINO, the evidence is clear on the subject that there there are wide and distinct differences between elected officials based on party.

The voters in Red states need to change but they watch Fox news and listen to hate radio so are extremely committed to being profoundly misinformed.

That won't change unless they start teaching civics on the radio and TV and they are required to pass a test each week on history and current events.

I know someone close to me that has turned into a trumpian and is watching fox and denounces CNN and MSNBC. This etiology has become a "type" of person and it really makes me nauseous, (and more).

I wore my pink pussy hat in public today. It felt good to be an active walking protest. I bought more yarn too!

Are people seriously claiming that a Democrat cannot oppose a Putin sycophant like Tillerson and win in West Virginia?

I know West Virginia has a proud socialist history, what with Matewan and all, but I doubt very much that Putin is the kind of guy they were fighting for.

Quit surrendering

Just the way it is. Have to accept it. Democratic unity and all of that.

I mean look at Republicans. They vote lockstep on everything and if not they get primaried. And look at the mess they are in. We wouldn't want that, would we?!?!

I mean lucky for us we have blue state Dems like Diane Feinstein and Corey Booker who have stood up to every one of Trump's nominees and who never, ever feel the need to vote against the Democratic party line. Right?

He'll wait until after the midterms to test the direction of the wind.

Committee positions are already appointed this term, he has no political reason to switch unless his seat becomes threatened by a Republican. Which, considering his voting pattern, is not that likely. .
