Senator who told EW to 'take a seat' got a not-so-warm welcome back to Montana

Constituents have doggedly asked Sen. Daines for a town hall meeting while he’s back home in Montana this week and they’ve been met with silence. Since he hasn’t answered their calls, some constituents decided to put together a welcome party at the Bozeman airport and ask him directly for a town hall. He hurried through the airport, flashing a smile and refusing to talk to constituents, who finally started an impromptu “You work for us!” chant as he jumped into a waiting car and sped away.

I'be heard they ignore complaint emails, so in addition to nasty emails and nasty tweets (from me and a huge swath of fellow constituates) to weasely weasel-confirming GOP Senator, Toomey, I left an equally nasty voicemail, since all the lines were busy, hopefully from other nasty women (and men) calling to set him straight.

in reply. The staff (possibly even bots using OCR scans if it's a hard copy letter) pick out some key phrases and choose the stock reply that best fits.

I still think it's worth doing, as it's pretty easy, but only so they can't say they didn't get any emails on the topic.

From what I've read, calling is better, personal visits best. Not that I'm capable of sitting in the same room as Toomey and keeping calm, but for those who can, do. On calmer days I can manage a call w/o losing it.

just the ACA, which we just got last year.

We have National Parks, Wilderness areas and lots of BLM and USFS lands at stake and under threat of extractive industry, like the gold mine next to YNP and the AB Wilderness not to mention a ton of other natural resource issues that will affect much of the western states if these places are not protected from the ravages of mining, timber harvest and overgrazing. Tourism is a major chunk of our economy even if many don't see it that way... all those folks care about is getting theirs at the expense of everyone else.

and one halfway okay Senator... we only have one rep in the House and he's just been made a Cabinet member and there is a high dollar application fee to run in his place that only RWNJs are allowed to apply for, sadly. But then, Montana is still a whole lot better than Idaho where I moved from. Lots of federal workers in this state due to all the public lands here... myself included. I don't know if I'll have my seasonal position back so I am seeking private sector options which aren't the greatest at present since most require physical labor that I can no longer do.

Sat Feb 11, 2017, 02:28 PM
Feb 2017

part D (The prescription drug plan passed during George Bush's term) is now part of Obama Care.

Since Obama Care, the Dough Nut Hole has been gradually closing and will be completely closed in 2020 but now the gains so far will be lost.

To refresh the minds of everyone, especially those with parents on Medicare, the Dough Nut Hole is a gap where their insurance does not cover their drugs and they,we have to pay the full amount. Almost everyone hits it and it is very expensive.

Now those gains of gradually closing the hole will be lost. This needs to be thrown in the face of every Trump voter.
