Trump supporters are burning HARRY POTTER books.

Last edited Sat Feb 11, 2017, 06:47 PM - Edit history (1)

And JK Rowling is fighting back on Twitter.

Among other things, she has said that DT is worse than Voldemort.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/ct-j-k-rowling-twitter-feud-20170204-story.html?kwp_0=328677kwp_4=1246996kwp_1=557219

If there's any doubt left that we live in divisive political times, know this: Some fans of Harry Potter are burning their copies of the books to protest J.K. Rowling's political views. And she's fighting back on Twitter, insulting those very fans.

That's right, one of the most beloved books in modern history has now become a political prop. Is nothing safe?

SNIP

Critic: "glad I caught this article on yahoo. I will now burn your books and movies too."

Rowling: "Well, the fumes from the DVDs might be toxic and I've still got your money, so by all means borrow my lighter."

Rowling has long been vocal about her feelings concerning President Donald Trump for some time. She's mostly used the president's favorite platform, Twitter, to share her criticisms.

"Well, there you have it," she wrote on Twitter on Oct. 19. "A highly intelligent, experienced woman just debated a giant orange Twitter egg. Your move, America."

http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/08/politics/jk-rowling-donald-trump-voldemort/

Donald Trump, who stood by his call for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" Tuesday on CNN's "New Day," is facing a firestorm from Democrats, Muslim Americans and a wide range of Republicans — from Dick Cheney to Marco Rubio.

But one of Trump's latest critics, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, may have some of the harshest words yet for the Republican front-runner's controversial policy proposal.

"How horrible," tweeted Rowling, along with a BBC report on Trump's call to ban Muslims. "Voldemort was nowhere near as bad," she added.

And fans of the fantasy novels know just how serious a comparison to the "Dark Lord" is.

I remember the idiots destroying French wines during Dubya the Dolt's reign. Like the French didn't already have the Euros in the bank.

There was a report yesterday about the worries of the Texas Farm Bureau, a notably rePuke leaning group that the proposed 20% tarrif on Mexican goods is going to hurt Texas business especially restaurants and other food selling business. This would also impact auto parts and other items that keep the industrial machine running.

Could you imagine a bunch of progressives saying, let's go buy copies of art of the deal and then toss them into a bonfire...

Have they nothing better to do with their time and money and voices?

Are they completely unaware of the implications of and history behind book burnings?

When exactly did knowing stuff go out of style for the other side?

The Art of the Deal is easy to get. I usually see a copy the bargain bin and $1 shelf of the bookstore. It is right there with the Sarah Palin book. I already have her books but I saw this Harry Potter t-shirt that I really like and I think the Trump supporters have convinced me to get it.
