He (Lovitz) tanked the comedy club at Universal City Walk that they co-owner and when the club went under and he sold the property, he screwed Smith out of his share of the sale, and his share of the profits that his show was making at the time. And they were the only show at that club that was making any money at the time. Sounds like a conservative business thing to do.
