For the past few months, I have been torn between my ethical and positive self and my ruthless Machiavellian self.
I believe that we have reached a time in history where Machiavellian power politics must be used in order to preserve the Republic.
I believe the Democrats must beat the Trump Administration to the ground with allegations that Trump and his henchman are operatives of the Kremlin.
At this point, it does not matter to me if this is true or not. It has the appearance of Truth, and there is a long history of Trump's involvement with Putin and Russia.
Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump were able to make much progress with their lies about Hillary Clinton and the emails. We must learn to use messaging this same way, so that Democrats can save the United States for the future.

This post is nothing but divisive and completely unwarranted.

But it's all over, and Donald Trump is president, so I guess I should just pretend that never happened. Thanks for the reminder.

(37,152 posts)...(and that's assuming they weren't full-blown sTrumpets infiltrating a Bernie rally)?
Because as long as the "I guess I should just pretend that never happened" card is in play, do you recall that the vast majority of Bernie supporters in the primaries voted for Hillary in the general election? And always were going to vote for the primary winner? Will that part be forgotten when you're being all "merciless"? Or will you escalate the pie fight by not caring too much about your aim because everybody in that direction is practically the same?

(22,459 posts)Look at the shit this guy has gotten away with!!!! Republicans do whatever they want and they get away with it.
And Democrats sit there and say, "But it's not in the constitution" As if we don't have an entire Supreme Court whose job it is to interpret the constitution because the constitution is not black and white and is subject to interpretation!!!
Now I hear some shit about his Supreme Court pick will probably go through. Fuck!
There has not been one filibuster since this monster show has come to town. Everything we were told they would fight has just gone flat and the republicans win again.
They are ruthless. They lie, they cheat.
So far being nice has not worked.

(22,459 posts)Right now it is just a fight about Bernie and the emails. I got your point and I agree with it.

(26,355 posts)Democrats need to learn to be ruthless.
We can't keep showing up to a gunfight with a flower.
