NASCAR star ripped, apologizes for breastfeeding remark on Twitter
NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne apologized Wednesday after expressing his disgust on Twitter when he saw a woman breastfeeding at a grocery store.

The 31-year-old Kahne added, One boob put away one boob hanging!! #nasty.
I dont feel like shopping anymore or eating.
--------------
His tweets caused outrage on the social networking site, with one woman named Deana P., posting, I hope someday you have a kid and someone tells your wife that feeding your child looks nasty.
Kahne, who has 100,000 followers on Twitter, caused further furor by responding, And your a dumb b*tch, to which she countered, Stay classy a**hole.
Kahne later apologized on his Facebook page.

(9,103 posts)who earns his living driving a noxious internal combustion engine around and around and around and around and around an asphalt circle, pumping carbon monoxide and other toxic pollutants into the air, making a huge amount of noise, wasting god knows how much petroleum, all for the purpose of entertaining the similarly piston-obsessed, and he considers breast feeding a baby "nasty"?
I guess inhaling all those fumes must have impaired his judgment.

It is not a filthy or disgusting thing at all. It is a healthy, nurturing, loving act.

(18,186 posts)spewing spent fossil fuels into the environment, going round and round and round and round the road like a f***ing gerbil on crack, while a bunch of people (who could see the same thing standing next to the interstate for free) are cheering, because the ozone layer need that hole to be bigger, and all the kids living around that track need to inhale the nasty smoke from his overpriced career activities.
F*** him, what a tool!
The irony of people who make a living polluting the environment calling the very wholesome act of nursing "nasty" !!! People, this is why the world thinks Americans are MORONS. Kasey Kahne, you just proved you're a clueless, NASTY idiot!
Go Nursing Moms! DOWN with NASCAR!

Let them have their guns, bibles, and loud cars that drive around in pointless circles. Let them have their idiots. Let them have their shitstorm that is sure to follow. He has ruined his career, at least as a sponsored driver. The protests, even for the most misogynistic of them, will be too much.

(18,186 posts)Progressive, decent American women have become increasingly disgusted with the prudery surrounding breastfeeding. We can go anywhere in the world and feed our infants but here at home.
He should have said: "Saw a woman feeding her baby, providing the baby with antibodies, bonding with her child, offering the perfect food, protecting her child and herself from disease, helping her body heal after labor and reducing her chances of getting breast cancer. What a great sight!"
Instead, his ignorance won out. I'll be calling all of his sponsors tomorrow.
We have such a difficult time getting women to nurse, just watched a "daugher" go through this and basically she gave up because it was too tough of a fight for her against society. Her baby has a lot of issues because of this, mainly gastrointestinal because he has a hard time with the formula. Guys like him just made it even more difficult for young mothers with his stigmatizing this very healthy. wholesome thing.
A shitstorm indeed!

(19,568 posts)Kasey Kahne is vile. He is a reactionary. The very same types who we have spent our lives fighting against.
The ignorant mind: Breastfeed = bad. Carbon Monoxide into the enviroment from race cars = good.

Its sick that the natural use of a women's breast is offensive to these teabagger hillbillies.

"According to the Call to Action, breastfeeding protects babies from infections and illnesses that include diarrhea, ear infections, and pneumonia. Breastfed babies are also less likely to develop asthma, and those who are breastfed for six months are less likely to become obese. Mothers themselves who breastfeed have a decreased risk of breast and ovarian cancers.
A study published last year in the journal Pediatrics estimated that the nation would save $13 billion per year in health care and other costs if 90 percent of U.S. babies were exclusively breastfed for six months. Dr. Benjamin added that, by providing accommodations for nursing mothers, employers can reduce their companys health care costs and lower their absenteeism and turnover rates.
I believe that we as a nation are beginning to see a shift in how we think and talk about breastfeeding, said Dr. Benjamin. With this Call to Action, I am urging everyone to help make breastfeeding easier.
